Fountain & Fryer: Restaurant Menu and Brand Design
This project required the creation of a brand identity for a fictional restaurant. I developed, Fountain and Fryer, a family-owned vintage soda shoppe concept specializing in American comfort food and artisanal ice cream. The challenge was to create a retro atmosphere that felt intentionally modern, avoiding a dated aesthetic. My design strategy, which was applied to a menu and business card, relied on a retro appeal with modern clarity. The design is anchored by vintage-inspired fonts and colors (such as cherry red and cream) that immediately establish a nostalgic atmosphere. This classic palette is paired with clean lines and a contemporary layout structure. This approach ensured that the menu and business card maintained high readability and felt current. The final concept communicates the restaurant’s dedication to family tradition and a fresh take on American diner culture.
